Yuma Youth Hockey League is the recreational division of Yuma Youth Hockey. The local rec league runs from September to November at Kennedy Hockey Rink.

What gear is required?
Helmets are required at all times on the rink. In addition, each player needs to have a mouthguard, elbow and shin pads, hockey gloves, girdle, inline skates and a hockey stick. Note: brakes should be removed from skates.
Is gear available to rent?
Gear is available on first come, first served basis. YYHL strives to keep a well-stocked gear room to accommodate most players, but we cannot guarantee we will have gear available in all sizes. A refundable deposit of $100 per player ($300 max per family) is required and will be refunded when gear is returned (minus a $5.00 processing fee).
Can I register a female player for a lower age division?
Female players can play up to 1 year down. For example, a 9-year-old girl may play on the 8u team.
What is the date of birth cut off for the divisions?
Division is determined by age as of December 31, 2023.
If I want my child to “play up” in a higher division, which division should I register him/her for?
Register your child for his/her level by age and contact a board member or email yumahockey.com. All unprotected players must attend skills evaluation unless the absence is previously excused. YYHI Board reserves the right to place player in the appropriate division according to skill level, as determined at skills evaluation.
